Retirement Planning and Tax Preparation – in One Place

A simpler way for retirees to handle planning and taxes without juggling multiple professionals.

For many retirees, investment decisions, retirement planning, and tax filing are handled by different people. That can lead to extra hassle, confusing paperwork, and avoidable surprises.

Most retirees end up managing a financial advisor, a CPA or tax preparer, investment accounts, withdrawal instructions, and tax forms — all separately. When those parts don’t communicate with each other, you become the go-between.

This usually means:

✔ Extra coordination
✔ Repeated document requests
✔ Confusing tax surprises
✔ Delayed answers
✔ More work than it needs to be

There’s a simpler way to handle it.

A Coordinated Approach That Reduces Hassle

We help retirees and near-retirees simplify their financial and tax lives by coordinating retirement planning and tax preparation under one roof. That means the same team that helps you make retirement decisions also helps prepare and file your tax return if you choose.

This means:

✔ Fewer moving parts to manage
✔ Fewer professionals to coordinate
✔ Fewer surprises at tax time
✔ Fewer things slipping through the cracks
✔ Clear understanding of where things stand

Convenience is the starting point — coordination is the benefit.

How We Combine Retirement Planning and Tax Preparation

There are two parts to what we do. They are related, but not the same:

1. Retirement Planning (Forward-Looking)
This includes decisions about investments, withdrawal strategy, Social Security timing, Medicare considerations, and how to structure income during retirement to ensure your money lasts.

2. Tax Preparation (Backward-Looking)
This is the annual process of filing your tax return after the year is over. If you choose, we prepare and file your return here as part of the relationship.

Coordinating both means:

✔ The planning side understands what will show up on the tax return
✔ The tax return reflects the decisions made during the year
✔ You aren’t stuck explaining one professional to another

This creates continuity without you having to manage it.

Is This a Fit for You?

We work with retirees and people close to retirement whose income primarily comes from:

  • Withdrawals from IRAs and 401(k)s

  • Social Security

  • Investments
  • Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)

  • Dividends, interest, and capital gains

Most of our clients prefer to delegate rather than DIY. They value having reliable guidance and want things handled correctly without a lot of back-and-forth.

If You Already Have a CPA or Tax Preparer

Tax preparation is optional. Some clients keep their existing CPA, and we coordinate as needed. Others prefer the convenience of having everything handled in one place. Both approaches work within our system.
